Overview

The Wisconsin Dental Association prides itself on a tradition of excellence when it comes to advocating for member dentists in Madison and Washington, D.C. In fact, every time we survey our members, the number one thing we are told that we do best is advocacy. That is only possible because of the support and participation of members like you.

So, how can you help?

Financially

There are three ways to make your political contributions work for you:

  • Direct Giver (DG) puts the money entirely in your control. Your donation goes into a non-interest bearing account and is disbursed to specific state-level candidates upon your approval. New to WDA this year, your DG money may also be used for federal-level candidates running in Wisconsin. You may also be solicited for donations to candidates in your area or those of interest to WDA.
  • Wisconsin Dental Political Action Committee (WIDPAC) funds are contained in one large account and used at the discretion of the WIDPAC Board. Funds are sent to state-level candidates who are proven supporters of oral health, as well as those in leadership positions.
  • American Dental Political Action Committee (ADPAC) is controlled by the American Dental Association in Washington, D.C. It goes to help federal candidates supportive of oral health issues.

Make your voice heard: Pledge to donate through your DG account, WIDPAC or ADPAC!

Your pledge can be given all at once, or spread out monthly.

All contributions are gratefully accepted.  Rates for special recognition are:

  • $25 Student
  • $75 Spouse
  • $100 First 5 years out of school
  • $200 Advocate
  • $500 Leadership Circle

Disclaimer

The WDA Direct Giver program consists of funds deposited by individual member dentists. Corporate campaign contributions are strictly prohibited in Wisconsin and there are no funds from annual dues in the Direct Giver program. The WDA does not “endorse” any candidate for public office – this communication is sent by the WDA for the sole purpose of informing member dentists when there are events being hosted by their dental colleagues and/or events in their area of the state. The goal is to provide the information and to let each individual member decide whether or not he or she wishes to contribute his or her personal Direct Giver funds to a dentist-hosted event and/or a local event for an elected official. We believe all politics is local and the WDA views its role provide information to individual member dentists who want to get involved in the political process and get to know their elected officials, regardless of the political affiliation of the candidate for whom the event is being held.
