The Wisconsin Dental Association today released the following statement from WDA President Dr. Paula Crum (Green Bay), after Gov. Tony Evers signed legislation to allow dentists to administer certain vaccines:
“On behalf of the 3,100 members of the Wisconsin Dental Association, I would like to thank Gov. Evers for signing Senate Bill 13 into law. Through his action, Wisconsin’s 3,500 licensed dentists are now authorized to administer COVID and influenza vaccines following eight hours of training and education. This legislation received unanimous, bipartisan support in both houses of the state legislature.
“I would also like to extend gratitude to Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu and Assembly Speaker Robin Vos for expeditiously guiding this through the legislature. Finally, I greatly appreciate bill authors Sen. Kathy Bernier and Rep. Robert Brooks for their leadership on this bill.
“This legislation is another positive contribution that the dental profession can make toward effectively combating the COVID-19 pandemic in Wisconsin and supporting the overall well-being of Wisconsinites in every corner of the state.”
