The WDA has received many calls from members asking if they must sign up for MetLife’s new policy that will require them to accept their reimbursements by electronic transfer. Any dentist who has received payments in the past received this letter.
The ADA Practice Institute staff contacted MetLife about the concerns that not only does this enrollment make it more difficult for offices to match payments for patients since the explanation of benefits will no longer be mailed, but some offices practice management system does not allow for end-to-end electronic claims processing. Offices not able to accept this form of payment can opt out of this new policy.
