As 2023 approaches, you have been invited to renew your professional relationship with dentistry by maintaining your WDA membership or by joining for the first time.
While you are confirming your membership, please remember to include your annual donation to the WDA Foundation with your dues payment. The WDA Foundation is one of the only charities that represents your profession and your association, and your support is vital to maintain its charitable programs.
Your donations are the Foundation’s greatest source of unrestricted revenue. While unrestricted revenue is not glamorous, it is desperately needed as it is used to pay rent, salaries, supplies, the everyday expenses that keep the Foundation open for business. Contrary to popular belief, the WDA Foundation does not receive funding from your mandatory tripartite dues payment. The Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) charitable organization that works closely with the WDA to assure that your priorities are reflected in its programs. It relies solely on the voluntary contributions, made in addition to your standard dues payment, for its source of revenue.
For 65 years, the Foundation has made the charitable goals of the WDA membership its top priority. Currently, seven programs make up the core of what is achieved throughout the year. Four programs serve the welfare of the public, while three serve the dental community. In spring 2023, the Foundation will undergo strategic planning to assure that it continues to align with the goals of the dental community for many years to come.
