Hopefully by now, you’ve heard the exciting news that the 2018 Wisconsin Dental Association and WDA Foundation Mission of Mercy will take place Friday, June 22 and Saturday, June 23 at the Exposition Center at Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis. (Clinic setup is on Thursday, June 21 and help with that is always appreciated, too!)
I can’t believe the WDA has hosted eight MOM events. It seems like just yesterday, that things began in La Crosse in 2009. Since then, nearly 14,000 people have received much needed care valued at more than $9 million. These are truly impressive numbers and something that members of the WDA should be proud of.
2009 – La Crosse
2010 – Sheboygan
2011 – Wausau
2012 – Madison
2013 – Lake Geneva
2014 – Green Bay
2015 – Fond du Lac
2016 – Eau Claire
2018 – West Allis
I want to thank everyone who has been involved in our previous missions. While it takes hundreds of volunteers to make it happen, dentists and dental hygienists are the most critical pieces of the puzzle. Without the skilled hands of these dedicated professionals, there would be no treatment. I continue to be amazed at the compassionate manner in which dentists and dental hygienists perform very difficult work in a challenging setting.
Volunteer registration for this year’s event is now open. Visit the Mission of Mercy page under the WDA Foundation tab on WDA.org to sign up. Please consider being a part of the 2018 Mission of Mercy. The Greater Milwaukee Dental Association is hard at work finalizing all the details. They need as many dentists and dental hygienists as possible to provide care to what is expected to be a record number of patients.
As always, please don’t hesitate to contact me ([email protected] or 414-755-4100) if you have any questions or would just like to chat. I always enjoy hearing from members and sharing information.
I look forward to seeing you June 22 – 23 at State Fair Park!
