We couldn’t let this month pass without saying thank you to the Wisconsin Dental Association Foundation’s fantastic volunteers.
Since its start in 1998 through end of the 2015-2016 fiscal year, 844 volunteer dentists have provided more than $10.4 million in comprehensive dental care at no charge to 3,564 state residents through the Donated Dental Services program. An additional $744,757 in supplies and services has been donated by 159 participating dental labs.
The Mission of Mercy, which will return in 2018, boasts more than 1,000 volunteers each time the program takes place.
Every WDA Foundation board and committee member is a volunteer. They work to keep our foundation vital and relevant and all are serving without compensation. Whether assisting a dental professional in crisis, reviewing grant applications, selecting scholarship recipients, planning or managing a special event or reviewing the foundation’s budget, each board and committee member is volunteering his/her time and expertise to make the WDA Foundation stronger and more responsive to the needs of dental professionals.
To everyone who has assisted the WDA Foundation in any way over the past 60 years – thank you!
To those who have not yet stepped forward, please take this opportunity to contact Carol Shoemaker, DDS director and MOM coordinator, at [email protected] or 888-338-6852 or Vicki Bohman, foundation executive director, at [email protected] or 414-755-4198 to learn what you can do to help your WDA Foundation.
Remember, the WDA Foundation’s continued success depends on you!
