Registration is underway for the Wisconsin Dental Association Foundation State Dental Golf Classic, an annual event that promises to be a great day with friends and colleagues.
The Golf Classic is set for Monday, Sept. 10, 2018 and this year, by overwhelming demand, it is moving to West Bend Country Club! If you haven’t golfed West Bend Country Club this is your opportunity to see why it has become a favorite course of Wisconsin golfers.
The registration fee is $195 per golfer and will include the use of a golf cart, 18 holes of golf, a buffet lunch and dinner, a cash bar with two drink tickets provided and an awards program following the round. You can choose to play standard golf or a scramble format. The event goes on – rain or shine and you don’t need to be a dentist to participate. Friends and family are also invited. This is an event for golfers of all ages and abilities.
The Golf Classic traces its roots back to the mid-1940s when the Annual Session of the Wisconsin State Dental Association was held in Milwaukee. Many Wisconsin dentists looked forward to beginning the golf season at one of Milwaukee’s private golf courses during their stay. These informal golf excursions gave rise to the Wisconsin State Dental Society Annual Golf Tournament in 1965. Over the years, the outing took many turns and in 2011, it transitioned into a fundraising event that has raised more than $83,000 to support the charitable programs of the WDA Foundation. This year, $35 from each registration fee will directly support the WDA Foundation and its programs. Registration deadline is Friday, Aug. 24.
The WDA Foundation is also seeking sponsors for the event. Sponsorships start at $200. Local dental societies and dental groups are urged to show their support with a sponsorship.
Registration and sponsorship information is available at wda.org/wda-foundation under the Events and Activities tab or contact WDA Foundation Executive Director Vicki Bohman at [email protected], 414-755-4198 or 800-364-7646.
