Interested in developing your leadership skills, expanding your professional network and helping guide your professional association into the future? Apply now for the Wisconsin Dental Association’s fourth biennial Leadership Academy, to be held Feb. 6 and 7, 2020, at the new Lodge Kohler in Green Bay.
Day one of this valuable free program consists of hands-on leadership, teamwork and communications training, along with information about WDA governance. On day two, participants attend the winter Board of Trustees meeting to learn how the WDA conducts its business. Academy attendees will also meet individually with a WDA past-president sometime during the subsequent months before graduating at the WDA House of Delegates in November 2020.
“I would enthusiastically encourage anyone thinking about applying to the 2020 WDA Leadership Academy to do so,” said Dr. Tom Reid (Madison), WDA Region 5 Trustee and 2015 Leadership Academy graduate. “The experience provided me with a broad exposure to a variety of topics which I personally found enriching and helpful in developing leadership skills. Moreover, what I learned from my fellow academy participants was especially beneficial. For me, the academy helped me focus on areas which needed improvement and reconfirmed areas of strength.”
The WDA covers meals and overnight expenses for the two-day academy, and attendees will earn two non-clinical continuing education credits. Attendance is limited to 10 dentists to allow for learning in a supportive, small-group format. Every effort is made to build a diverse academy class with representatives from various practice models, career stages and regions of the state.
If this program sounds right for you, please complete the 2020 WDA Leadership Academy application today and return it to Director of Membership and Communications Brenna Sadler at [email protected] or FAX 414-755-4101 by Friday, Aug. 2, 2019.
