As a dentist, your entire career is spent alleviating pain and infection, bringing back smiles and literally changing people’s lives for the better. Helping others is so much a part of your life that you probably have already thought about how you would like to positively impact the future of your profession. While there are numerous ways to make a difference, one way is to join the WDA Foundation’s Legacy Society.
The Legacy Society is an elite group of donors who demonstrate forethought by making a planned gift to help provide for the oral health needs of generations to come. A planned gift gives you the opportunity to voice your wishes today while making your contribution at a later date without impacting your current savings.
By naming the WDA Foundation in your will or as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy, individual retirement account, 401(k), retirement plan or charitable trust, you are creating a personal legacy. Typically, a planned gift designates that a percentage of the donor’s estate be contributed to the charity after his or her family has been provided for, but there are also many other ways to pledge your support.*
The process is easy. Designate your planned gift through your attorney or financial planner and then simply complete a letter of intent and return it to the foundation. The foundation’s letter of intent can be found at https://blog.wda.org/wda-foundation/how-you-can-help/planned-giving.
No personal or financial information is required at the time of your induction into the Legacy Society. Keep in mind that a planned gift not only benefits the WDA Foundation, it also provides a tax advantages for your heirs.
