It’s been a long, cold winter and it’s time to shake off the blahs and get out in the sun. Now is the perfect time to register for the WDA Foundation State Dental Golf Classic, an annual fundraising event that promises to be a great day with friends and colleagues.
The Golf Classic is set for Monday, Sept. 16, at North Hills Country Club in Menomonee Falls! If you haven’t golfed North Hills, this is your opportunity to see why it has been a favorite course of Wisconsin golfers for nearly 90 years.
The registration fee is still just $195 per golfer and will include the use of a golf cart, 18 holes of golf, a buffet lunch and dinner, a cash bar with two drink tickets and an awards program following the round. You can choose to play standard golf or a scramble format, and the event goes on rain or shine. This is an event for golfers of all ages and abilities. Friends and family are welcome!
The Golf Classic has been around almost as long as North Hills Country Club, tracing its roots back to the mid-1940s. When they attended the WDA’s Annual Session, many Wisconsin dentists would begin their golf season at one of Milwaukee’s private courses. These informal golf excursions gave rise to the Wisconsin State Dental Society Annual Golf Tournament in 1965. Over the years, the outing took many forms and in 2011, it transitioned into a fundraising event that has raised more than $95,000.00 to support the charitable programs of the WDA Foundation. This year, $35 from each registration fee will directly support the WDA Foundation and its programs.
Registration deadline is Friday, Aug. 30.
The WDA Foundation is also seeking sponsors for the event. Sponsorships start at just $200. Local dental societies and dental groups are invited to show their support with a sponsorship.
Registration and sponsorship information is available at wda.org/wda-foundation under the Events and Activities tab or contact Vicki Bohman at [email protected], 414-755-4198 or 800-364-7646.
