It’s hard to believe that the Wisconsin Dental Association Foundation Mission of Mercy event is almost here. Volunteers have been working hard to assure that this year’s MOM clinic will be ready to help approximately 2,000 children and adults improve their oral health.
If you’ve signed up for MOM during past years, you know that it takes more than 1,000 volunteers to provide oral care to those in need. But what you might not know is that it also takes more than $200,000 to cover the costs for such a wide-reaching event. While everyone working volunteers his or her time and expertise, the program needs to purchase supplies and food, rent the facility, pay for parking and much more. This funding comes from grants and donations from the local community. $200,000 is a lot of money and your help is needed to reach that goal.
To make giving simple, a YouCaring fundraising page has been set up to accept donations for the program. To date, more than $3,500 has been raised through this crowd funding site in support of the 2018 MOM. The goal of the site is $10,000 and there is still time to reach that goal.
Every donation, regardless of amount, makes a positive impact on those in need of oral care. Plus, you can help even more by sharing the link with your friends, colleagues and family. The more people who receive the link, the more donations the clinic is likely to receive.
Whether you plan to join the more than 1,000 volunteers during the clinic or just want to show your support, please visit the fundraising page at www.youcaring.com/wdamissionofmercymilwaukee and make a donation in any amount that fits your budget.
Thank you for joining us in our efforts.
