Today I got to spend the day with my mentor at her beautiful practice. I always appreciate seeing her practice philosophy, how well her patients are treated, and how compassionate she is of her team members. ⠀
As I transition to D3 year and I have more free time, I’m looking forward to spending more time with Dr. Avery, who has become so much more than a mentor. She has been there through all of the ups and downs and I know that I can always ask her a question about absolutely anything, without the fear of feeling judged. ⠀
⠀
We do everything from brunches to CE, and I find myself incredibly lucky to have found a powerhouse female dentist I can look up to! ⠀
⠀
Mentors are your window into what you can achieve!
⠀
So, how do you find one and what should you look for?
⠀
What to look for:⠀
- Similar lifestyle choices ⠀
- Similar background to yours ⠀
- Approachable ⠀
- Similar professional goals ⠀
The best mentors know that dental school is what it is. They have been through it and are eager to provide you with the knowledge to help you succeed. Don’t let four years pass you by without finding your own Dr. Avery. ⠀
Will you join us as a 2020/2021 Mentor? Completing this survey by Friday, Aug. 21 is required to participate as a mentor in this year’s program.
