My president component visits across the state are in full swing. I enjoy getting to know members and responding to their concerns in a town hall style meeting setting. Before we arrive for these meetings, we send out a pre-visit survey to members to gather and investigate their local concerns. I encourage each of you to take a few minutes to complete the survey. It is very valuable in allowing me to prepare talking points with information that you will find useful. What I say changes as I gather more information from members.
For example, in Dane County there is a problem with benefit programs using closed panels. The way we can address this problem is to introduce “Any Willing Provider” legislation.
Completing the survey gives me a chance to study your problem, ask experts around the state or within the Wisconsin Dental Association, then talk with useful information at your meeting. This type of input from components initiated the formation of a Practice Transitions Committee. This new committee will have its first meeting May 18.
You certainly should not unsubscribe to component invitations or surveys. This is where your WDA membership really pays off. We can’t fix a problem unless you let us know what you are thinking.
There are seven components that are not on my schedule yet: Burlington, Columbia Dodge Marquette, Manitowoc Calumet, Marinette Oconto, Southwestern, Waukesha and Waupaca components.
I encourage your group to schedule a President’s visit by contacting WDA Component Relations Coordinator Amy Bastic at 414-755-4120 or [email protected].
Upcoming President’s visits include:
- Racine/Kenosha
- Central Wisconsin
- Fond du Lac
- Rock
- Northwest District
Watch your email for the pre-visit survey to share your thoughts, concerns and questions.
