I understood there was a need for quality part-time faculty and I was happy to lend a hand. The level of future technical expertise in our field depends on the clinical education of our future dental colleagues.
When I started my time teaching at Marquette, I was focused solely on what I could provide to the dental students. I strove to convey the lessons that I had learned professionally. It took me only a short amount of time to realize that the students were also providing many things to me!
Beside the rewarding nature of teaching, the students challenge my knowledge in the field and share the latest advances in dental technology and care. I find myself looking forward to my Friday morning at the dental school where I continue to build close bonds with the students. I watch them grow into clear-thinking and more competent dental clinicians as the year goes on which is an inspiration to me.

I have always desired to mentor students or young dentists and recently, I started teaching as part-time faculty at MUSD with D2 students. The experience thus far has been a breath of fresh air!!! The interactions with faculty and students has been challenging and stimulating. It is a blessing to be able to share my experiences, and receive the knowledge of others. I have gotten as much or more than I have given. It is a rewarding way to serve the profession.
