Dane County Dental Society and Green County Dental Society officially merged to become the Greater Dane Dental Society on Jan. 1, 2014.
The merger took place after more than a year of discussions with leadership and members of both societies. As part of the merger agreement, the Greater Dane board was expanded to include representatives of both component areas and this remains true today.
At the time, Green County Dental Society President Dr. Drew Delforge (Monroe) and Dane County Dental Society President Dr. Tom Reid (Madison) hoped the merger and their experience with the process would become a model example for other Wisconsin Dental Association components wanting to take advantage of combining resources.
