Cyber Monday is almost here and if you are like thousands of people, you’ll be heading over to Amazon to take advantage of the bargains.
What would you say if I told you that your holiday purchases – and any Amazon purchase at any time of the year – could support the programs of the Wisconsin Dental Association Foundation without costing you a cent?
It’s true! Just sign on with your standard Amazon login at smile.amazon.com instead of the traditional Amazon website. When prompted, insert “Wisconsin Dental Association Foundation, Inc.” or the EIN number “39-0965289” to activate donations which will be made by Amazon in support of WDA Foundation programs.
Once you have connected your account to the WDA Foundation, Amazon will automatically donate 0.5 percent of the value of your purchases to the Foundation and will remember the Foundation for future purchases made through smile.amazon.com.
The donation comes from Amazon so you will just pay your normal purchase price – nothing extra! It just takes a few simple steps and you are supporting the WDA Foundation with every Amazon purchase you make.
If you use the Amazon mobile app, Begin by signing up on your web browser at the smile.amazon.com site as indicated previously. Once you have designated your preferred charity, download or update to the latest version of the Amazon Shopping app on your phone. You can find it in the App Store for iOS or Google Play for Android.
Open the app and sign in with your standard Amazon password. Tap on “Settings” in the main menu, then on “AmazonSmile” and follow the on-screen instructions to activate AmazonSmile on your phone. The app will remember your selection for 6 months, at which time it will remind you to reset your preferred charity.
Everything else about the Amazon shopping experience stays the same, including the shopping cart, wish lists, prices and shipping.
