The Wisconsin Dental Association is actively recruiting more volunteer dentists to participate in our renowned WDA-Marquette University School of Dentistry-Pierre Fauchard Academy Mentor Program. To help us in this effort, we have extended the deadline for completing the 2017-18 mentor participation surveys for last year’s mentors and WDA members who want to become a mentor to Aug. 20.
We are very grateful to each of the 182 dentists who took time out of their busy schedules to participate in the 2016-17 program. The fact of the matter is, the majority of our mentors were kind enough to take on additional protégés (344 out of 400 students participated), prompting us to look to recruit more mentors.
Your participation in the program is not only appreciated, but much-needed, particularly outside of the greater Milwaukee area where we lack mentors.
Dr. Christopher Goettl (Bloomer) states, “I feel the Mentor Program will provide an opportunity to inform a protégé on some of the great dental opportunities available in practicing in a more rural setting.”
A goal of the Mentor Program is to inform students of the vast practice opportunities available outside the city.
Please consider becoming a mentor, regardless of where you practice.
To thank current and prospective mentors, the WDA is hosting a contest for those who complete the existing and prospective mentor surveys to be entered in a random drawing to win one of two sets of two tickets to the Nov. 6 (Monday, 7:30 p.m.) “Green and Gold” game at Lambeau Field. Two sets of two tickets — two winners — are being made available!
If you are not a current mentor, but would like to become part of this award-winning program (and have a chance at attending the Nov. 6 football game), please complete the Prospective Mentor survey.
If you are a current mentor but have not completed your participation survey yet, please do so at your very earliest convenience and you, too, might attend the Nov. 6 game at Lambeau: Existing Mentor survey.
Please save the date for the 2017-18 Mentor Program Kick-Off Dinner which will be held on Monday, Sept. 25 at Marquette University Alumni Memorial Union.
